Welcome
to Wood's End Studio and the art of bird-carver John
de Lang. The scenic beauty of Ontario's southern Muskoka
district is a constant inspiration for this artist, as he
creates his wood carvings in a quaint studio-cabin set at
the edge of the forest on ten wooded acres.
John's beautiful carvings
of songbirds and other wildfowl have earned recognition at
carving competitions nationally and internationally. He
continually explores new species of birds, researching their
habits and habitats to authentically replicate them in wood.
Wood's End also
offers a unique line of
gifts for
garden and home. Unusual sculptures, planters, and
bird-feeders perk up the gardens.
Stained-glass artist Carolyn de Lang
features whimsical pieces that will delight the eye with their
colour and design.
You'll even find a little magic as you explore the trails of
"The
Enchanted Forest",
dotted with miniature replicas of houses from fairytale lore.
The studio hosts a truly special event in August: The
Woodland Art Experience gives guests the chance to watch
artists at work in the gardens and courtyards at Wood’s End.
Experience the delights of a studio art tour, all in one
creative setting!
A visit to Wood's End
Studio is a treat for nature-lovers, birdwatchers,
gardeners . . . with something for everyone!
